Gadjah Mada of University is the oldest university in Indonesia, the name Gajah Mada of University is taken from name of a famous duke at time of Majapahit kingdom,His name is Gadjah Mada . it is established on December 19, 1949 or four years after freedom of Indonesian. The first rector at the time it Prof. Dr. . M. Sardjito

The first GMU faculty possessed 6 and now has grown to 18 faculties , among the most famous faculty is the faculty of law , many national figures graduate from here or professor in the faculty .
